Felice Platone was an Italian politician, partisan and lawyer. He earned a laurea di giurisprudenza at the University of Turin Department of Law. Mobilized during both World War I and World War II, Platone, known by his nom de guerre" Gamba” during and after the Second World War Italian resistance movement, was discharged with the rank of major of artillery. During the 18-year Mussolini dictatorship, the legal profession did not hinder Platone from performing clandestine anti-fascist activities. Not surprisingly, immediately after the 1943 Armistice of Cassibile," Gamba” was among the organizers of the Asti Resistance. A member of the anti-fascist National Liberation Committee, Platone served as mayor of Asti 1945–1951 after Italian liberation. He was a Communist PCI member of the Constituent Assembly of Italy from 25 June 1946 to 31 January 1948, and from 8 May 1948 until 24 June 1953, he was a member of the Italian Senate. Platone was credited with implementing a coherent plan for the citys postwar reorganization and enhancement of its cultural traditions through public works programs and improving conditions for the lower classes in health care, welfare, education and the supply of basic necessities. After a September 1948 flood and subsequent storm in the Piedmont region, he led an immediate emergency response and secured city council approval of a recovery plan for the most hard-hit neighbourhoods. Platone also supported cultural institutions and arranged a 1949 celebration of the bicentenary of the birth of Italian poet and dramatist Vittorio Alfieri, who had been a native of Asti.

Before 1955 the Channel Islands had no transmitters, and received radio transmissions of the BBC national radio stations from mainland England, which could easily be picked up in the Channel Islands. The BBC started FM transmissions on 16 October 1961 from Les Platons, of the Home, Light and Third Programmes had started in the UK in the mid-to-late 1950s. Later this became 91.1 as Radio 2 with occasional Radio 1, 94.75 as Radio 3 later rounded up to 94.8, and 97.1 as Radio 4. The Fremont Point transmitter would go on the air in September 1962 bringing Independent Television ITV to the Channel Islands for the first time in the form of the ITV franchise Channel Television. In due course Fremont Point became the main television transmitter site for the Channel Islands. It started broadcasting UHF 625 television in 1976 along with the introduction for the first time of BBC2 and colour television to the Channel Islands. Les Platons television transmissions ceased in 1985 when the old VHF 405 line transmissions ceased in the UK. From 1985 onwards Les Platons has been a radio transmitter site only.

Barney recounts the story. One night at the bar, Barney discussed the fact that the groups only true male / female Platonic relationship was between Marshall and Robin with imagination, showing that Marshall and Robin even if Lily was on the line of life. By this time Lily was fed up with Barneys own creative plays to pick up women. She dares him to take up problems that she and Robin will choose, which includes getting a female number, speaking as a Dolphin, and without using any words that contain the letter E. seeing that Barney has passed all their challenges, Lily and Robin have decided to make him earns them by inserting the challenge of picking up a woman, fulfilling the request - to buy her a pack of diapers for Marvin and samosas for Robin. Barney buys the product and then trying to play the woman at the pharmacy, the woman actually TEDS future wife, who sees through his facade and calls him on it, future Ted tells his children it was "how Barney met your mother". Outside, the two talk about the Barneys failed relationship with Robin and how he felt lost since they broke up. When Barney says he can easily Woo back Robin, the woman declares that if he really wants her so much that he will have to give it his best shot. The woman leaves him and Barney returns home, leaving behind the diapers and samosas, project "Robin". Elsewhere, Marshall and Ted watch the game between the Washington generals and the "Harlem Globtrotters". As they watch the games with the support of the generals, the two begin to talk about teds feelings for Robin he again to pursue her. Ted Marshall says that hes not interested, because he knows that Robin is not interested in any real obligations, so their relationship is only Platonic. Marshall tells him that for years and people change. Ted also gets a call from his old boss Hammond Druthers, who offers Ted a job in Chicago in light of his success with the headquarters of the GNB. Ted initially refuses, but eventually agrees to think about it under pressure Druthers. Returning home after the game, Ted finds Robin eating olives, which surprises him, how she hated olives during their first date, and Robin tells him that she changed her mind about them. He reminded the marshals of the word, Ted calls Druthers and turns down the job, believing that he still has a chance with Robin. Druthers tells Ted that the offer remains open if he changes his mind, and later in MacLarens, Ted admits he and Robin now only share a "platonish" relationship. However, rather than immediately pursue her, he wants to leave it to fate to bring them together. Flashforwarding back to the Farhampton Inn, Barney says that, despite all the difficulties, he still had not completed one task - to cheer up Robin. Now, inspired by what did Barney, Robin kisses him as Ted watches them with sadness, feeling that his decision to leave his relationship with her to destiny could cost him his future with her.
